Special Education Teacher (Part-Time) – Contract Position Location: District Office & Regal Elementary (WA) Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays Hours: 10:00 AM–12:30 PM (District Office) and 3:00 PM–4:30 PM (Regal Elementary) Weekly Hours: 8 Contract Length: 13 Weeks Start Date: March 2, 2026 Population: Grades 9–12 Position Overview The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality instructional services to students in grades K–12 receiving special education support. This role requires strong collaboration skills, as the teacher will participate in planning and implementing individualized programs, delivering specialized instruction, offering tutorial assistance, and consulting with general education staff. This assignment specifically supports students in grades 9–12 and requires a Washington State SPED endorsement. Responsibilities + Deliver specialized instruction to students receiving special education services + Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff + Participate in IEP planning, implementation, and progress monitoring + Provide consultation and support to ensure student success in inclusive settings + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations + Support students across two locations during scheduled hours Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred) + previous experience working 9-12 pop + WA SPED Endorsement for High School level + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations + Washington State Special Education Endorsement required + Preferred certifications: + Standard Elementary Teaching + Standard Secondary Teaching + Standard Special Teaching + Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement + Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred) + Compliance with all professional standards of practice + Current CPR certification (if applicable) + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable) + Current health certificate per state or contract requirements + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements + Must be at least 18 years old Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
