Special Education Teacher (Resource) - Buckeye, AZ Pay Rate: $50 per hour Schedule: 40 hours/week Contract Duration: ASAP – End of the School Year Location: Buckeye, AZ Workweek: Tuesday–Friday (4-day schedule) Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM Position Overview The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Program Administrator, is responsible for delivering high-quality instructional and support services to students requiring specialized academic assistance. This position focuses on individualized instruction, collaboration with instructional staff, and adherence to all federal, state, and local guidelines related to special education. This assignment supports K–3rd grade students in a resource-based setting with a caseload of 27 students. Key Responsibilities + Provide specialized instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). + Collaborate with instructional personnel to support inclusive practices and effective learning strategies. + Participate in IEP development, progress monitoring, and review meetings. + Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to special education services. + Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, records, and progress reports. + Provide tutorial, consultative, and supplemental academic support as needed. + Communicate effectively with students, families, and internal team members. + Contribute to a positive, collaborative, student-centered learning environment. Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred). + Valid state teaching certificate as required by applicable regulations. + Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred). + Preferred Certifications: + Standard Elementary Teaching + Standard Secondary Teaching + Standard Special Teaching + Preferred Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1). + Compliance with all relevant professional practice standards. + Current CPR certification (if applicable). + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable). + Current health certificate (as required). + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age.
