Special Education Teacher – $45/hr – San Antonio, TX – Full-TimePosition Overview:
Amergis is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers to provide instructional and case-management services for students in grades K–12 across a variety of instructional settings, including self-contained, resource, and content-area support. Educators will deliver specialized instruction, implement accommodations, develop IEP goals, and collaborate with the Special Education team to ensure the academic, behavioral, and social success of diverse learners.
Assignment Details:
Location: San Antonio, TX
Start Date: February 2, 2026
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week

Available Roles:#1 – Grades 6–12 (Self-Contained)
+ Provide instruction to 3 middle/high-school students in a self-contained setting
+ Support core subject instruction
+ Manage IEPs, document services, and maintain progress records
+ Collaborate with the Special Education team
+ Certification: Special Education certification covering assigned grade levels + Content Area/Generalist certification for grades 6+
#2 – Grades 6–12 (Math & Science Support)
+ Provide instructional support in Math and Science for middle/high-school students
+ Implement individualized accommodations
+ Develop and monitor IEP goals
+ Document services and collaborate with instructional teams
+ Certification: Special Education certification covering assigned grade levels + Content Area/Generalist certification for grades 6+
#3 – Grades K–5 (Resource Setting)
+ Provide small-group resource instruction for students in grades K–5
+ Support instruction across elementary core subjects
+ Manage case documentation and IEP progress monitoring
+ Work closely with the Special Education team
+ Certification: Special Education certification covering assigned grade levels + Content Area/Generalist certification for grades K–5
General Responsibilities:
+ Provide specialized instruction across assigned grade levels
+ Implement accommodations and differentiated strategies
+ Develop, track, and document IEP goals
+ Deliver small-group and individualized instruction as needed
+ Collaborate with Special Education staff and general education teams
+ Maintain accurate, timely documentation
Credentials & Qualifications:
+ Special Education certification covering assigned grade levels
+ Additional content-area or generalist certification as applicable per role
+ Experience with assigned grade span preferred
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ CPR, TB screening, and health clearance if applicable
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
