Special Education Teacher ( Mild/ Mod)
Salary: $2200 / Week Pay Rate: $45–$55 per hour Position Type: Full-Time Position Overview The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to students with special needs in grades K–12. This role requires a collaborative approach to planning and implementing individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff. Responsibilities + Deliver instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) + Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff + Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations + Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to program development Minimum Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred) + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations + Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred) + Certification Types (preferred): + Standard Elementary Teaching + Standard Secondary Teaching + Standard Special Teaching + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred) + Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice + Current CPR certification (if applicable) + TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable) + Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
