Position Overview
Amergis Staffing is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide high-quality services to students from kindergarten through grade 12. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher participates collaboratively in planning and implementing individualized programming, specialized instruction, intervention, and consultation with general education staff.
The district is open to considering General Education teachers who are comfortable teaching Special Education populations; families will be notified accordingly.
Multiple positions are available across elementary, middle, and high school settings with placements determined following virtual interviews.
Available Openings
Elementary:
+ 2 Kindergarten openings
+ 1 First–Second grade opening
+ 5 Third–Fifth grade openings
Middle School:
+ 4 openings
High School:
+ 2 openings (1 is an MLL-focused position)
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide specialized instruction to meet IEP goals
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and general education staff
+ Deliver differentiated academic support and behavior strategies
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation
+ Participate in IEP meetings, planning, and progress monitoring
+ Support students in inclusive and self-contained settings as assigned
+ Comply with district, state, and federal Special Education requirements
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid state teaching certificate, meeting district/contract requirements
+ At least one year of teaching experience preferred
+ Preferred certifications:
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
+ Must meet all professional standards of practice
+ CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if required)
+ Current Health Certificate (per contract/state regulations)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years old
