Special Education Teacher (Elementary School) Start Date: January 12, 2026 Schedule: 40 hours per week Location: Sunnyvale, CA Interview: Virtual interview with SPED Director and School Principal Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our school community and provide high-quality instructional services to elementary school students. Under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, this educator will play a key role in delivering individualized instruction, collaborating with general education staff, and supporting student success through specialized programming and consultation. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to teamwork, student-centered planning, and inclusive education practices. Responsibilities + Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs + Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices + Participate in IEP planning and implementation + Offer tutorial assistance and academic interventions + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations + Uphold professional standards of practice Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred) + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations + Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred) + State Teacher Certification – Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred) + State Teacher Certification – Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred) + State Teacher Certification – Standard Special Teaching (preferred) + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred) + Current CPR certification, if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable + Current health certificate per state/contract requirements + Meets all federal, state, and local employment requirements Assignment Details + Caseload of approximately 25 students + Single elementary school site Contact Information: Vanessa Denard vadenard@amergis.com Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
