About the Role
Amergis Staffing is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Special Education Teacher to support students in grades K–5 within an inclusion classroom setting. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will help plan, coordinate, and deliver high-quality services to approximately 23 students, supporting their academic and behavioral success across general education environments.
This role requires strong teamwork, flexible problem-solving skills, and a commitment to implementing individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide specialized instruction and support to K–5 students in an inclusion environment
+ Assist with planning, implementing, and monitoring individualized student programs
+ Collaborate closely with general education staff to support student success
+ Complete required documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance-related tasks
+ Follow the designated schedule: 7:45 AM–3:15 PM (schedule should not vary without prior approval from the Special Education Director and communication with Amergis)
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by district/contract
+ Preferred certifications:
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Education Teaching
+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
+ Minimum one year teaching experience (preferred)
+ Compliance with all professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR (if required)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
+ Current Health Certificate (as required by state/contract)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years old
