Special Education Teacher (Elementary) Location: Memphis, TN Start Date: ASAP Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM Duration: Full 2025–2026 School Year Position Type: Charter School Interview Type: In-person About the Role Amergis Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (SPED) – Elementary to provide exceptional services to students in grades K–12. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the SPED Teacher participates in planning and implementing individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, inclusion services, functional skills support, tutorial assistance, and collaboration with general education staff. This role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, a passion for serving diverse learners, and the ability to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities + Provide high-quality special education services for students in inclusion and/or functional skills settings. + Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). + Deliver specialized instruction tailored to student needs. + Collaborate with general education teachers to support student success. + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. + Document and track student progress. + Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development. + Provide consultation and support to school staff and families. Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred). + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations. + 1–2 years of teaching experience (preferred). + State Teacher Certifications (preferred): + Standard Elementary Teaching + Standard Secondary Teaching + Standard Special Teaching + LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist) Endorsement preferred. + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements. + CPR certification, TB test/PPD, chest x-ray, and health certificate if required. + Must be at least 18 years of age.
