Special Education Teacher (Generalist License) – Boulder, Colorado Immediate Start – In-Person | Through May 22, 2026 Amergis Educational Services is seeking a Special Education Teacher with a Colorado Generalist License to support an elementary special education classroom in Boulder, CO. This is a full-time, in-person role working 37.5 hours per week, aligned with school hours: 7:35 AM – 3:05 PM. The ideal candidate has experience supporting students with autism, is confident in a co-teaching environment, and is proficient with the Colorado IEP system. Position Details + Title: Special Education Teacher (Generalist) + Type: Full-Time, In-Person + Schedule: 37.5 hours/week + School Hours: 7:35 AM – 3:05 PM + Start Date: Immediately + End Date: May 22, 2026 + Location: Boulder, Colorado + Reporting To: Special Education / Case Manager (co-teaching model) Education & Certification Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field + Colorado Teaching License with a Generalist Special Education endorsement + Experience working in an elementary special education setting strongly preferred + Proficiency with Colorado’s IEP system (e.g., Enrich or state-approved platforms) + Must complete fingerprinting and background checks prior to start (mandatory) Duties & Responsibilities As a Special Education Teacher supporting autistic students in an elementary setting, responsibilities include: Instruction & Support + Provide direct instruction, small-group support, and accommodations tailored to students with autism + Implement evidence-based strategies such as visual supports, structured learning environments, and routines + Support communication needs, including AAC devices, picture systems, or social-communication tools + Promote social-emotional learning, behavioral regulation, and executive functioning skills Collaboration + Co-teach and collaborate daily with the Special Education/Case Manager and general education teachers + Communicate regularly with families, related service providers, and school teams + Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and data collection + Assist with developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) Compliance & Documentation + Write, update, and implement IEP goals aligned with state standards + Maintain accurate student documentation and progress data + Ensure compliance with state and district policies regarding special education services Classroom Environment + Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment + Utilize de-escalation strategies and positive behavior supports + Foster independence, peer interaction, and classroom engagement Interested?
