Special Education Teacher
Special Education Preschool Teacher Location: El Mirage, Arizona Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week Contract: Remainder of the 2025–2026 School Year Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Preschool Teacher to join our team in El Mirage, AZ. The ideal candidate will be experienced in delivering specialized instruction to preschool-aged children with diverse learning needs and committed to creating an inclusive, developmentally appropriate learning environment. This is a full-time position for the remainder of the school year. Responsibilities + Provide specially designed instruction to preschool students with disabilities in alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). + Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans tailored to each child's unique needs. + Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. + Participate in IEP meetings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. + Maintain accurate and timely documentation within Arizona’s IEP management system (insert name of AZ IEP software). + Collaborate with parents, administrators, service providers, and support staff to foster strong home–school partnerships. + Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports social-emotional, cognitive, language, and motor development. + Follow all Arizona Department of Education (ADE) regulations and district policies. Required Qualifications + Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with Early Childhood Special Education (Birth–Grade 3) or Special Education certification appropriate for preschool-aged students. + Meets all Arizona Department of Education and state regulatory requirements for special education preschool instruction. + Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety. + Experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities. + Familiarity with Arizona IEP processes and documentation requirements. + Proficiency with Arizona’s IEP software (insert system name here). Preferred Qualifications + Prior experience in a school-based or early childhood setting. + Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to differentiate instruction and apply evidence-based early childhood and special education strategies.
