Special Education Teacher
Modality: Special Education Teacher Local Pay Rate: $57/HR Program: Learning Support Schedule: Mornings, Monday–Friday Start Date: January 23 Assigned To: Anu Pall Position Overview Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality instructional services to students in kindergarten through grade 12. This role requires a strong commitment to collaboration and team participation in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of individualized student programs. The Special Education Teacher works closely with general education staff, families, and support teams to deliver specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation to support student success. Essential Responsibilities + Provide specialized instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement effective student programs + Deliver tutorial support and targeted interventions as needed + Consult with general education teachers to support inclusive practices + Maintain compliance with all professional standards, district policies, and state/federal regulations + Document student progress and participate in required meetings and reporting Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred) + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, district, or contract regulations + Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred) + State Teacher Certification (preferred, as applicable): + Standard Elementary Teaching + Standard Secondary Teaching + Standard Special Teaching + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred + Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice + Current CPR certification, if applicable + TB clearance (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray), if applicable + Current health certificate (per state regulation or contract requirements) + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
