Special Education Teacher (Middle School | Grades 5–8)
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM | 37.5 hours/week
Duration: 39 weeks
Classroom Model: Inclusion-Based
Student Load: Up to 15 students
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality services to students in grades 5–8. This role emphasizes collaboration within an inclusion-based model, working primarily in general education classrooms to support student success through specialized instruction, IEP implementation, and consultation with general education staff.
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver special education services aligned with student IEPs
+ Demonstrate strong IEP writing, documentation, and compliance skills
+ Collaborate closely with general education teachers in inclusion settings
+ Provide small-group pull-out instruction in the SPED classroom as needed
+ Participate in team-based planning and implementation of student programs
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid state teaching certificate per state/district regulations
+ State Teacher Certification preferred (Elementary, Secondary, and/or Special Education)
+ Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred
+ Minimum 1 year of teaching experience preferred
+ Knowledge of professional standards of practice
+ CPR, health certificate, TB clearance as required
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
