Special Education Teacher – Extensive Support Location: Santa Barbara, CA Pay Rate: $75–$90/hour (Local) Contract Length: 39 weeks | Full-Time | 37.5 hours/week Start Date: ASAP Setting: In-person only | Extensive Support classroom Grade Level: Elementary (small class size) About the Role Amergis is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality services to students with extensive support needs. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will plan and implement individualized programs, collaborate with general education staff, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements. Responsibilities + Deliver specialized instruction and tutorial assistance for students with diverse learning needs. + Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). + Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusion. + Supervise and guide paraeducators in classroom activities. + Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports. + Participate in team meetings and provide consultation on student programs. Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred). + Valid California teaching credential with ESN or M/S Special Education Certification. + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred. + Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred). + Current CPR certification (if applicable). + TB clearance and health certificate per state regulations. + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age.
