Special Education Teacher
Salary: $1925 / Week The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff. Minimum Requirements: + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations + Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred + State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred + Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age # of Vacancies: Special Education Teachers (3 remaining) What is the age range of the students? (2 opening) @ Bridges Program - Transition - Caseload includes 7 students in cross-categorical model of classroom, physical disabilities with moderate to severe behaviors, high acuity classroom. Not a typical classroom model, they are learning functional independence and life skills in their gift shop/store on-site. Prep for life outside of educational system. (1 openings) @ Pathways Program with High School- Autism Focus - 6 students in classroom What type of program (resource, life skills, etc.) and is it push-in/pull-out? Self-Contained Classroom Type *Push-In/Pull-Out is dependent on each student but they do a bit of both - they do have room to pull-out if necessary* Caseload size? Any paraprofessionals they will be overseeing? Support provided? Students with 1:1s? Bridges Program: + Each classroom does not exceed 8 students + Each classroom has a SPED teacher and a TA specific to that classroom only + 2 out of 3 students in this program have an assigned 1:1 para Pathways Program: + Each classroom does not exceed 6 students + Each classroom has a SPED teacher and a TA specific to that classroom only + 3 to 4 paras on average per classroom ELIM provides wonderful support by working together as an interdisciplinary team: SLPs, BCBAs, SW, RNs, PTs, OTs, RBTs If mid-year, remaining IEPs to complete? Students on BIP? (behavior intervention plans) TBD on specific assignment IEPs/BIPs + Most students experience behaviors (mild/moderate to severe depending on specific caseload assigned) School & schedule? Will be discussed during phone call + One general location; several buildings on site that host each program! Start Date: Next School Year, August 2025 NSY 25/26: August 22 Hours : Full-Time M-F 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (estimated 35 hours weekly) Plan/Prep time?
