Special Education Teacher – $55/hr – Scappoose, OR – In-Person – 5 MonthsPosition Overview: The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality instructional and behavioral support services to special education students in grades K–12. This educator collaborates with the instructional team to plan, implement, and monitor individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, academic support, and consultation with general education staff. Assignment Details: Location: Scappoose, OR Start Date: 02/16/2026 End Date: Approximately 5 months Schedule: Monday–Friday Hours: 40 hours per week Pay Rate: $55/hour Modality: In-person Openings: 1 position Details of Assignment: + Supports a 5th-grade student with significant behavioral and medical needs (severe behaviors, seizure disorder, Pica, dysregulation, non-verbal communication). + Primary assignment is one student; assignment includes push-in/inclusion classroom support. + Responsibilities include case management (IEP updated for the year; only ongoing notes required). + Provides hands-on support for elopement, aggression (hitting/kicking/biting), toileting, seizure monitoring, AAC device usage, and Pica-related safety. + Role requires strong experience with high-needs students and a calm, patient demeanor. Responsibilities: + Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support for a high-needs student within an inclusion-based environment. + Collaborate with educational staff to implement individualized programs and strategies. + Deliver intervention aligned with the student’s IEP goals and behavioral needs. + Maintain documentation, progress notes, and updates to IEP components as needed. + Support general education staff with accommodations and instructional strategies.
