Special Education Teacher – Romeoville, IL Pay Rate: $45–$50 per hour Schedule: 37.5 hours/week Assignment Dates: ASAP – End of School Year Modality: In-person Endorsement: LBS1 (required) Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to middle school–aged students. This educator will work collaboratively with general education teachers to deliver co-taught instruction, support IEP implementation, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. Ideal candidates demonstrate strong instructional skills, effective collaboration, and a commitment to helping students with diverse learning needs succeed academically and socially. Assignment Details + Start Date: ASAP + End Date: End of School Year + Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:55 PM + Hours: 37.5 hours/week (30-minute unpaid break) + Caseload: Up to 13 middle school students + Instructional Model: Co-teaching in ELA and STEM classes + Environment: In-person role Responsibilities + Provide specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and student needs. + Co-teach ELA and STEM classes in partnership with general education teachers. + Utilize differentiated strategies to engage and support learners. + Monitor, document, and report on student progress. + Participate in IEP meetings, planning, and collaborative problem-solving. + Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and professional standards. Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (preferred). + Valid Illinois teaching certificate with LBS1 endorsement required. + At least one year of classroom or teaching experience (preferred). + Knowledge of special education instructional practices and middle school learning needs. + CPR certification, TB/PPD, and health documentation as required by state regulations. + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age.
