Join Our Team: Special Education Teachers Wanted Location: Milwaukee, WI Pay: + $55/hr + full benefits with active DPI SPED license + $47/hr + full benefits with Substitute Teaching License Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time Start Date: 2/23/26 or ASAP once onboarding/credentialing is complete Contract: Through end of school year, with option to renew for next year Type: In-Person, K–12 About the Role We are seeking dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teachers to support K–12 students in Milwaukee, WI. Under the guidance of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality instructional services, individualized support, and specialized programming for students with diverse learning needs. This role includes direct instruction, collaboration with general education teachers, participation in IEP development, and consistent communication with school teams and families. Key Responsibilities + Provide specialized instruction to K–12 students in alignment with IEP goals + Conduct assessments and assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs + Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success + Offer tutorial and consultation services as needed + Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and state requirements + Participate in meetings, professional development, and student support planning + Uphold all professional, ethical, and educational standards Minimum Requirements + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred) + Valid Wisconsin DPI Special Education Teaching License or Wisconsin Substitute Teaching License + Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred) + Preferred certifications/endorsements: + Standard Elementary Teaching + Standard Secondary Teaching + Standard Special Education Teaching + Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) + Compliance with all professional standards of practice + CPR certification (if applicable) + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable) + Current health certificate (per contract/state regulation) + Must meet federal, state, and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years old Why Join Us? + Competitive hourly rates based on licensure + Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, etc.) + Monday–Friday schedule — no nights, weekends, or holidays + Opportunity to support students and make a meaningful impact + Contract through the end of the school year with option to renew + Supportive school leadership and a collaborative team environment Apply today!
