Overview
A full-time Special Education Gifted Teacher is needed to provide instructional support and specialized services to gifted learners. This educator will deliver curriculum-based instruction, support individualized learning needs, and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment.
Kansas Teaching Licensure and Special Education Certification required
(Or active enrollment in a certification program.)
General Responsibilities
+ Implement curriculum to Amergisize student learning.
+ Supervise and evaluate students within assigned instructional areas.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesA. Instructional Process
+ Develop and implement long-range instructional plans aligned to curricular objectives.
+ Prepare and deliver daily lesson plans that meet learning goals.
+ Provide targeted instruction for individuals and small groups.
+ Integrate curricular updates and new instructional programs.
B. Organization and Management
+ Maintain an organized, efficient learning environment.
+ Ensure all necessary instructional materials and equipment are available.
+ Keep student records, documentation, and folders current and accurate.
+ Maintain and organize IEPs.
+ Allocate instructional time based on student needs as outlined in IEPs.
+ Conduct IEP meetings and parent conferences regularly.
+ Complete required reports and follow established procedural guidelines.
+ Coordinate adult support staff schedules for Amergisum effectiveness.
C. Instruction
+ Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and communicate effectively with students.
+ Organize instructional content logically and clearly.
+ Use a variety of instructional materials and methods aligned to objectives.
+ Monitor student responses and adjust instruction as needed.
+ Reinforce positive behaviors through appropriate strategies.
+ Provide guided and independent practice opportunities.
+ Use assessments as instructional tools and communicate progress.
+ Evaluate student work and track learning outcomes.
D. Classroom Climate
+ Establish a physical and emotional atmosphere conducive to learning.
+ Maintain classroom control and encourage self-discipline.
+ Counsel students and collaborate with caregivers and staff regarding student needs.
+ Develop and implement behavior plans when appropriate.
+ Support students in developing appropriate group interaction skills.
+ Assist with student supervision as needed.
+ Promote a positive self-concept in all learners.
E. Professional Relations
+ Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
+ Maintain a positive, collaborative approach with colleagues and families.
+ Fulfill all assigned responsibilities and support organizational goals.
+ Engage in ongoing professional learning and development.
Qualifications
+ Valid Kansas Teaching License with Special Education Certification
OR active enrollment in a special education certification program.
Required Skills
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructional documentation and assessment data.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to present information effectively to individuals and groups.
+ Bilingual communication skills welcomed and valued.
