Cleaver Brooks is looking for a Spare Parts Sales Engineer to join our team in Milwaukee, WI. The Spare Parts Sales Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing spare parts quoting, sales, and fulfillment while serving as a key technical resource for aftermarket products. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, customer interaction, and process improvement to support spare parts sales growth and enhance customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of spare parts list creation, quotation, and order fulfillment while also providing product identification, technical support, and market development. This role is essential in ensuring customers receive the right spare parts solutions while supporting broader aftermarket product sales.

Essential functions:

Spare Parts Management & Sales 

Own the spare parts list creation and quotation process for all product lines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.  Utilize CPQ (Configurator) and related tools to generate an Interim Demand Header (proposed BOM) and resolve errors in collaboration with site engineers.  Work with IWT Product Sales Engineers and Aftermarket staff to develop spare parts lists for both manual and aftermarket quotations.  Ensure spare parts pricing, availability, and supersession data are integrated into quoting systems.  Continuously improve and automate the spare parts quoting process, ensuring quotes accompany every new capital equipment sale with minimal effort. 

Customer & Sales Support 

Serve as the primary point of contact for spare parts inquiries, providing technical product recommendations and application solutions.  Determine specifications for replacement or alternate products to meet customer needs.  Communicate technical specifications, availability, and performance details to customers, representatives, and internal teams.  Work with management to develop sales strategies and achieve market penetration goals.  Conduct customer follow-ups to ensure spare parts solutions meet expectations and drive repeat business. 

Order Processing & Fulfillment 

Enter spare parts orders into IFS, coordinating with the fulfillment team in Thomasville and reps for efficient order consolidation and shipment.  Ensure spare parts are properly packaged and stored for long-term usability on customer sites.  Support invoice dispute resolution, commission evaluations, and policy adherence for spare parts sales.  Collaborate with the Digital Solutions team to integrate spare parts order data into the myBoilerRoom platform, enabling customers to:  View their purchased spare parts inventory.  Easily track what parts they have on hand.  Quickly reorder consumed parts through an intuitive interface. 

Product & Technical Expertise 

Become the resident expert on spare parts categorization and industry standards, aligning with CBRA and Lifecycle initiatives.  Work with the CPQ development team to modify quote output formats, improving flexibility for miscellaneous item quoting.  Expand spare parts offerings beyond boilers to include ancillary equipment like blower fan assemblies, deaerators, skid systems, and softeners.  Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure suppliers provide spare parts lists before final payment.  Develop standardized CB part numbers for serialized objects, integrating them into Navigator and Spare Parts Lists for streamlined sales. 

Training & Market Growth 

Train representatives, customers, and internal staff on spare parts identification, sales processes, and technical support.  Gather representative feedback on product performance, sales strategies, and new opportunities to expand spare parts offerings.  Assist in evaluating representatives, promoting growth initiatives, and enhancing sales programs. 

Basic Requirements:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering field, Mechanical preferred

Experience:

Experience in spare parts sales, aftermarket sales, or technical support within an industrial or manufacturing environment.  Strong understanding of BOMs, CPQ tools, and IFS or similar ERP systems.  Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.  Excellent customer service and communication skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders.  Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and drive process improvements.  Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
