Virgin Galactic is seeking a talented and motivated Spacewrench 3 to be a part of our Flight Maintenance team to support our mission. Establish and share the vision towards a common goal while holding self and others accountable. As a Spacewrench 3, you will be maintaining, repairing, and inspecting all parts of the aircraft. You are responsible for returning an aircraft to service through assigned preventative and reparative work. **Work Schedules available:**   4/10 Onsite Monday through Thursday Day Shift (6:00am – 4:30pm) 4/10 Onsite Monday through Thursday Night Shift (4:00pm – 2:30am) 4/10 Onsite Thursday through Sunday Day Shift (6:00am – 4:30pm) **Work Location & Temporary Assignment requirements:** We are hiring this role for our Las Cruces (Truth or Consequences), NM on a full-time basis, however, for the first 6 to 11 months of employment, you will be required to be based in Mesa, AZ on a temporary assignment at our Spaceship Factory supporting our manufacturing team building Spaceships. At the end of your assignment, you will be required to move to Las Cruces (Truth or Consequences), NM for your full-time position to maintain and operate our vehicles during flight operations. **Relocation** assistance available to move to Las Cruces, NM area. . **Responsibilities** + Checks, dismantles, adjusts, overhauls, repairs, fabricates, removes and installs all parts of the aircraft, including propulsion systems (turbine & rocket), avionics equipment & instruments, fuel systems, Environmental Control Subsystem (ECS) systems, life support systems, mechanical systems and hydraulic systems. + Accepts responsibility for accomplishing assigned maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair work on the space flight system vehicles. + Performs machine tool work and or composite repair work in connection with the above mechanic maintenance work. + Performs tasks leading to an aircraft return to service. + Performs service, maintenance, and inspections on flightlines and in non-climate controlled hangars. + Documents all work performed utilizing the Virgin Galactic approved database for compliance and recordkeeping. + Inspects aircraft, parts, sub-assemblies and completed assemblies to determine airworthiness. + Aids with the development of maintenance manual definitions for vehicle systems and structures. + Assists with the spaceline General Maintenance Manual (GMM) development and definition. + Trainer for other technicians following successful completion of the VG SpaceWrench training program. _You may be asked to perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management._ **Required Skills and Experience** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Graduated from a technical college, a recognized aircraft maintenance training program, or military aviation training course. + Must have a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate (A&P) + Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license. + 5 years of line maintenance experiece + Qualified to obtain Air Operations Area (AOA) access. + Experience on narrow body and/or business jet aircraft preferred. + Experience with composite aircraft is preferred (commercial or military aerospace application). + Experience with life support systems (crew and passenger). + Familiarity with procedures applicable to the various phases of maintenance. + Ability to understand and adhere to VG policies and procedures as well as train others. + Proactive, strategic and detail-oriented approaches with a strong commitment to safety, quality, efficiency and effectiveness + Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. + Abililty to use computer applictions and MS Office suite of tools. + Familiar with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). + Firm grasp of procedures applicable to the various phases of maintenance. + Demonstrated aptitude to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment. + Displays maturity of action and judgment. + Demonstrates initiative in pursuit of company goals and values with safety at the core of all endeavors. + Focuses on timeliness and execution of tasks and deliverables everyday. + Seeks out diverse perspectives and helps one another win + Holds themselves and others accountable for assigned work product. + Experience with rocket systems and associated solid and/or liquid propellants, preferred **Physical Requirements** + Work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed. + Travel 25% or more of the time. + Must be able to remain in a stationary position – 8 hours minimum. + Able to maneuver in tight spaces through positioning self by stooping, bending, crawling – 3 hours minimum. + Physically able to handle items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds (unassisted). \#LI-MS1 The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $64,235.00–$90,235.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity.
