The **Space Revenue Manager** is a strategic member of the hotel’s Sales and Revenue teams, responsible for maximizing revenue through the effective management of guest room inventory, meeting and event space, pricing, forecasting, and distribution strategies. This role drives topline growth across guestrooms, catering, banquets, and food and beverage operations through a combination of revenue management and function space optimization.
Working closely with Sales, Catering, Convention Services, Marketing, and Operations, the Space Revenue Manager analyzes demand trends, develops data-driven pricing and inventory strategies, and implements controls that optimize hotel assets, increase market share, and maximize profitability.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Function Space Management**
+ Evaluate availability, booking patterns, pricing, and placement of guest rooms and function space to maximize revenue opportunities.
+ Manage the function space approval and turn-down process, including customer communication, future opportunity tracking, and duplicate booking elimination.
+ Conduct regular function space audits to identify and resolve space conflicts, improve utilization, and support labor and energy efficiencies.
+ Monitor changes to function space within definite bookings to ensure compliance with approved space usage and revenue strategies.
+ Collaborate with Sales, Catering, and Convention Services teams to optimize group and event space placements while balancing operational needs.
**Revenue Strategy & Optimization**
+ Develop and implement pricing, inventory, and distribution strategies to maximize hotel revenue and profitability.
+ Analyze market conditions, competitor pricing, demand trends, and booking patterns to identify revenue opportunities and gain market share.
+ Manage guest room inventory controls, group block strategies, and function space allocation to optimize revenue performance.
+ Produce accurate short- and long-term revenue forecasts to support strategic planning and hotel goal setting.
+ Monitor revenue performance and provide reporting, analysis, and recommendations to hotel leadership.
**Sales & Business Analysis**
+ Monitor daily Sales and Catering activity, including new leads, referrals, lost business, and turn-downs, ensuring compliance with established booking guidelines and response standards.
+ Analyze lost business trends and booking denials related to guest room or function space availability to identify opportunities for improvement.
+ Provide revenue guidance and analytical support for sales and marketing initiatives designed to increase hotel performance.
+ Evaluate the effectiveness of revenue strategies and recommend adjustments based on market conditions and business demand.
**Leadership & Collaboration**
+ Partner with hotel leadership to develop and execute revenue-generating initiatives.
+ Support, mentor, and guide team members, including revenue analysts and operational leaders, through data-driven decision making.
+ Foster strong cross-functional relationships with Sales, Catering, Convention Services, Marketing, and Operations teams.
+ Maintain a customer-focused approach while balancing revenue optimization and guest satisfaction.
**Qualifications**
+ Minimum of two (2) years of experience in hotel revenue management, preferably as an Assistant Revenue Manager, Revenue Analyst, or previous hotel operations, sales, catering, or convention services experience.
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and possess strong technical skills all around.
+ Ability to interpret and communicate complex data and forecasting information.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
+ Experience with function space optimization, group inventory management, and meeting/event revenue strategies.
+ Knowledge of hotel revenue management systems, forecasting tools, and distribution channels.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
+ A genuine desire to satisfy the needs of guests and internal customers while driving results.
