The SP&S Quality Engineer ensures the integrity and effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) from an engineering perspective. This role provides governance, compliance oversight, and subject matter expertise to maintain alignment with ISO 9001, API Q1, API Q2, API Monogram, and other applicable industry standards. The position supports continuous improvement initiatives and ensures engineering activities meet internal and external quality requirements.
As the Lead SP&S Quality Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
QMS Governance & Documentation
Manage and maintain QMS documentation to comply with ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2, API Monogram, and other relevant standards.
Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements impacting QMS integrity.
Act as Agility Admin owner for all engineering-related documents.
Serve as Teamcenter reviewer for all Technical Information Library (TIL) documents.
Compliance Oversight
Monitor and ensure engineering activities comply with internal specifications and external regulatory requirements.
Provide guidance on quality and completeness of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans.
Facilitate peer reviews for CAPA plans associated with top issues.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement improvements to enhance quality and regulatory compliance.
Support initiatives to strengthen QMS processes and engineering quality standards.
Subject Matter Expertise
Act as a technical resource for quality-related queries within engineering.
Provide training and mentorship on QMS requirements and best practices.
To be successful in this role you will:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
Proven experience in quality engineering within a regulated industry.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2, and API Monogram standards.
Strong understanding of QMS principles and documentation control.
Proficiency in Agility and Teamcenter systems.
Knowledge of RCA and CAPA methodologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement.
