SP&S Project Quality Manager

The SP&S Project Quality Manager owns and governs all quality requirements throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring products and processes meet contractual, regulatory, and industry standards. The PQM provides expert guidance, drives consistent application of quality processes, and interfaces with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to secure successful, compliant project execution.

The SP&S Project Quality Manager ensures full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and QMS requirements throughout the project lifecycle while safeguarding the integrity of quality deliverables and driving effective issue resolution and continuous improvement. The role supports global, cross‑functional teams by coordinating quality activities, enabling customer and third‑party oversight, and ensuring consistent application of quality processes across engineering, suppliers, and Centers of Excellence. 

 

The PQM provides governance, expert guidance, and transparent communication on all quality matters, delivering robust documentation, audit leadership, performance reporting, and lessons learned to enable successful and compliant project execution.

 

As the SP&S - EPC Project Quality Manager will have the following responsibilities:  

 

ITO Stage: - 

Review project technical requirements and participate in associated gap analysis activities Participate in Concept Design Verification  Participate in review of top-level contractual requirements Participate in ITO activities, focusing on Quality related Lessons Learned and risk mitigation Participate in Third Party Inspection Costing review. 

 

Advanced Release/Project Execution Stage: -  

Project ‘Kick Off’ -  

Participate in Bid Handover Support and participate in Contract familiarization and Quality Induction, Supplier Quality Requirements flow-down, and cascading requirements to Centre of Excellence Project Quality Engineers Support Project Director creation of a Project Risk and Opportunity Management Plan Perform a Master Document Register review with reference to scope of supply, and populate to include EPC Quality Documents as required by Project/Customer Contract 

 

Project Execution: 

Create, submit and maintain Quality documentation (not limited to Project Quality Plan, Project Non-Conformance Reporting Procedure, Project Audit Plan/Schedule, Notification for Inspection process) Support creation of Mechanical Completion Matrix, submit to customer for approval.  Coordinate and support completions documentation as required per the Mechanical Completions Matrix Cascade Master Equipment List (to feed into TRS Matrix) to CoE Project Quality Engineers  Implement, maintain and ensure adherence of PQP at all relevant levels Support Project Engineering, where necessary, in seeking and obtaining Independent Competent Body (ICB)/3rd party design verification (sufficient engineering resources, scope definition, and issuance of Design Certificate from ICB/3rd Party) Support Centre of Excellence Project Quality Engineers ensuring ICB surveillance requirements are captured in Inspection Test Plans, NOIs and MRB reviews are being issued and reviewed towards ICB/3rd party release of equipment (per contractual requirements) Act as interface between customer/consortium partners and CoE's for all project quality matters Attend Customer meetings as required Drive and support Customer Issues Resolution (CIR) activities to closure associated with project customer complaints/non-conformances Manage Technical Queries on the Project  Participate/champion root cause analysis and subsequent actions through NCA/RCA methodology Continually drive lessons learned process to ensure project learning is shared across the business/all P&Ls Monitor and revise related Criticality Risk Assessments (CRA’s) to control changes in supply strategy – Control change of vendors etc.  Relevant ITPs to be aligned to any new risks identified. Participate in Pre-Production Meetings (PPM’s) and Mid-Manufacturing Reviews (MMR’s) as required  Lead customer audits of BH and suppliers' sites Participate in resolution of supplier quality issues Track and report on external inspection costs (costs vs project budget) Continual engagement with the customer/consortium partners throughout project (ITO, Execution to Handover and Closeout) 

 

Project Reporting. 

Monthly, Weekly reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, to include effective reporting on project quality metrics. Setup routine meeting with CoE Project Quality Engineers  Provide concise and prompt feedback to internal and external stakeholders for all quality issues ‘Top Issue’ Incident Reporting – Attend and provide feedback of progress and actions to achieve robust closure of any escalated project issues Project Cost of Quality reporting 

 

Project Handover/Closeout: 

Ensure that project quality deliverables are completed as detailed in contract and accepted by customer Coordinate Mechanical Completion and Dispatch Dossier activities with CoE's and customer Participate in Project Closeout Meeting and Report Support/participate in handover to Operations team(s), up to and including first operation completion.
