Job Title: SOX Consultant Experience Level: Mid-Level (5–7+ Years) Industry: Accounting / Finance About the Role We’re seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SOX Consultant to lead critical initiatives in financial reporting, SOX compliance, and operational accounting. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about building processes from the ground up. You’ll play a key role in shaping our accounting infrastructure, driving compliance, and mentoring a growing team. Key Responsibilities + Develop and implement accounting processes and internal controls from scratch, ensuring scalability and compliance + Lead SOX testing and documentation efforts, partnering with internal audit teams to ensure regulatory alignment + Oversee financial reporting, revenue recognition, and inventory control functions + Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation with a focus on accuracy and SOX compliance + Train and mentor team members on proper documentation, control procedures, and audit readiness + Collaborate with external accountants during month-end close and support internal audit processes + Leverage ERP systems to generate reports and support financial operations and decision-making + Drive change management initiatives and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement Required Skills & Qualifications + Proven experience in hands-on accounting roles (not upper management) + Strong understanding of journal entries, ERP systems, and internal controls + Deep knowledge of SOX compliance, SOX audit, and SOX testing + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred + 5–7+ years of experience in SEC reporting, with exposure to both private and public accounting (Big 4 experience highly valued) + Expertise in US GAAP, SEC regulations, and XBRL reporting + Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills + Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment + Proficiency in ERP and financial reporting systems Why Join Us + Be part of a transformative journey, building accounting systems from the ground up + Collaborate with a high-performing team and make a tangible impact + Enjoy a culture that values innovation, accountability, and continuous learning Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
