Team Overview and Job responsibilities

This position of South Central Regional Sales Manager Industrial Specialties, reports to Industrial Specialty VP of Sales, based in the territory, which consists of Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas

You will be accountable for sales, customer forecast, contract management, inventory management and selling of Specialty cable technology and delivering results tied to contribution margin goals. These products include, but are not limited to, Aerospace, Nuclear, Fire Protection, Railway, Rolling Stock, Moveable Bridge, Industrial Lighting, Crane, Mining, Oil & Gas, Solar, Wireless, Wind,  You will manage approximately $75 million in sales, requiring extensive face to face contact with existing Customers, Channel Partners, Agents and Prospects within the geographic region.

You will report to the Vice President of Industrial Specialty Sales, responsible for sales of Specialty Electrical Wire and Cable products in a defined Southeast region and targeted customers such as Electrical contractors, consulting engineers and municipalities. Key responsibilities are listed below:

Ensure sustained sales and profit growth within the Business UnitResponsible for managing sales representatives in the Region, assigning sales targets, reporting on the results of those sales targets, joint sales calls, and training of key sales partnersDevelop new customers and nurture existing to ensure service levels and growth opportunities are maximized.Provides pertinent information to the Product Management team to assist in the identification and development of new product and market opportunitiesProvide weekly reports updating customer activity, market analysis and competitor informationResponsible solving customer complaints, taking appropriate actions to ensure customer retentionManage direct accounts while also working with existing network of representatives and distributor partnersMeet or exceed all established goals and personal objectivesCoordinates and attends trade shows and annual regional sales meetings as neededTrains and assists customers, consultants, and sales partners Perform other duties as assigned.Analyze customer and prospect activity and respond as required to meet sales and profitability plan.Develop and deliver oral and written presentations to customers and prospects.Coordinate resolution of customer issues with appropriate internal resources (sales administration, product management, manufacturing, engineering, credit etc.). Generate and communicate to management market intelligence. Communicate new pricing, product and related industry information to customers and prospects in a timely manner.Promote and facilitate product training and plant tours with customers and prospects.Assist product managers with pricing decisions, product introduction, inventory decisions and major product group forecastingCommunicate overall customer needs and concerns to management.

Required Qualifications:

● Excellent communication skills (oral and written) including presentations and public speaking

● Excellent organizational and managerial skills

● Technically oriented, with technical knowledge of the electrical industry

● Works productively in unstructured environment, emotionally stable

● PC literate (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

● Demonstrated ability to sell and meet assigned sales profitability goals

Preferred Qualifications:

BA in related field with 5-7 years experience in technical sales to the Electrical Industry. Electrical contractor background considered as well. Strong interpersonal and communication skills together with reasoning, mathematical and computer skills required.General home/office environment 40%: Travel –position requires travel estimated 60%

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Works out of a normal home office environment with standard office equipment available.Extended periods of sitting or standing at a desk or workstation, or at tradeshows when required.
