Your role and responsibilities


In this role, you will have a strategic ownership over the material or service category including the supplier relationship and supplier performance. You will run RFQ and bidding processes in supplier interface, select the suppliers and manage price and agreement negotiations with suppliers within the material or service category. You will also lead other complex negotiations with the suppliers. You are also responsible of creation and implementation of the category specific strategies and action plans to ensure supply capability, right cost, supply quality and delivery accuracy. You will scout the supplier market for new potential suppliers in collaboration with the supply development team. You will ensure that the selected suppliers meet the commercial, technical, quality, sustainability and other requirements set for the purchased goods or services as well as the requirements coming from legislation.

The work model for the role is hybrid: #LI-hybrid

This role is contributing to the Marine Propulsion business line globally. Main stakeholders are production, service and technology.

You will be mainly accountable for

Own and develop category strategies to ensure supply capability, cost efficiency, quality, and delivery accuracy across global material or service categories.Manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance assessment, compliance with commercial, technical, quality, and sustainability standards, and adherence to legislative requirements.Lead sourcing activities, such as RFQs, bidding processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations, based on predefined criteria.Drive complex negotiations with suppliers, including pricing, quality issues, and agreement terms, to secure optimal outcomes for the business.Identify and onboard new suppliers in collaboration with supply development teams, continuously improving the supplier base and supporting innovation and resilience.

Qualifications for the role

Master’s degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field, with 2–5 years of experience in sourcing or supply chain management within an international environment.Solid financial acumen and strong negotiation skills, including the ability to draft commercial agreements and clauses.Good knowledge of commercial and contract law, including Incoterms, and the ability to apply them in a global business context.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and suppliers effectively; fluent in English and driven by a strong sense of urgency. 

We also value

Proven experience in leading complex supplier negotiations and executing sourcing strategies.Background in supplier evaluation, auditing, and development, including production transfer projects.Technical know-how in areas such as castings, machining, forgings, welding, electrical components, or automation systems.
