Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sourcing Leader – Clinical.

In this role, the successful candidate as the Sourcing Leader position is responsible for providing strategic sourcing services on Clinical Product spend at NYU Langone Health. This position can be assigned to support any of the following clinical areas: Perioperative/Orthopedic, Percutaneous, Non-Procedural, Capital Equipment, or Med Surg. The Sourcing Leader will request, review, and execute contracts from start to finish. The Sourcing Leader will collaborate with internal teams, including but not limited to Data Management, Purchasing, Clinical Supply Chain, Ops and Planning, Transformation, and Value Analysis (VA). The Sourcing Leader will execute sourcing projects from start to finish that include requirements gathering for the RFX packages, communicating with the requesters/end-users to close any data gaps, developing the package to the identified suppliers for bidding purposes, following up with the suppliers to ensure adequate participation, summarizing proposals back to the requestor/end-user, and assisting leadership in making strategic decisions on purchases. The Sourcing Leader works under the general direction of the Sourcing Manager. The Sourcing Leader will be responsible for collaborating with and providing directions to Sourcing Coordinators.

Job Responsibilities:

Cost Savings:  will identify, implement and quantify strategic sourcing savings opportunities.  Business Process Optimization: will partner with internal clients to improve business processes within (but not limited to) Supply Chain Department  Assesses Needs and Initiate Sourcing Projects: Partner with key stakeholders in initiating new projects based on high spend profile, potential for savings, upcoming contract expirations, process improvement, capital projects, and other related value add. Assists internal clients specify needs and define supplier performance expectations. Analyzes and validates policies and practices driving demands. Sourcing Strategies -Defines sourcing strategies that optimize value in light of requestor/end-user needs and market conditions. Applies project management skills that achieve project timing and service and savings objectives and assesses most beneficial means to access markets and drive the supplier behavior accordingly. Market Evaluations – Gathers and interprets market and competitive intelligence through formal and informal processes. Advocates competitive decision-making in the most efficient, least resource-intense process and evaluates supplier capabilities to meet our needs through fair and thorough techniques. Analyzation Skills – Must possess the skills to interpret and analyze data both financially and qualitatively in order to present and interpret outcomes. Must be able to explain and convey data to all end users. Must be able to identify sourcing opportunities from data. Supplier Selection and Contracting – Establishes business cases supporting sourcing recommendations. Conducts negotiations with suppliers on pricing and contractual terms and conditions and develops contracts supporting our business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies. Supplier Relationship Management – Partners with requestor/end-user to implement efficient ordering routines that include appropriate controls. Assists departments implement sourcing changes, especially if they move to a new supplier and for more significant spends and services. Contract Background – Must be able to analyze contracts, terms and conditions, and ramifications of contractual verbiage as it relates to the product, service, supplier in question and those ramifications within the hospital. Develops contracts supporting our business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies. Relationship Building ? Obtain requestor/end-user feedback to ensure alignment/expectations are consistent with their departmental goals. Works with requestor/end-user to periodically review supplier effectiveness; remain abreast of evolving needs and keep requestor/end-user aware of evolving market capabilities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Minimum of three years, strategic sourcing responsibilities for various commoditiesboth products and services within and outside healthcare organizations of work experience in operational, procurement, sourcing. High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of procurement/sourcing process Desired Skills Sets: Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data in excel – Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Excellent customer service skills; Knowledge and understanding of sourcing/procurement. Ability to follow a process based on documented guidelines. The candidate has the ability to take direction from senior leaders in department

Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or other recognized certification

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.95 – $117,112.89 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
