Sourcing Lead
Work Flexibility: Hybrid or Onsite

Hybrid Position: 2-3 Days Per Week On-Site Minimum

 

What you will do-

 

The Sourcing Lead will lead the development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities in assigned suppliers and/or commodities with the goal of obtaining the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.  
They will be responsible for coordinating sourcing needs for new product development projects, including completion of supplier selection with agreement to Global Sourcing Strategy, regularly reporting material costs, managing schedules, and defining final material logistics.  Acts as liaison for all sourcing activities to Design and Advanced Operations teams. 

 

Additional responsibilities of the Sourcing Lead include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensure project teams adhere to strategic direction of Global Sourcing and purchasing controls requirements related to design projectsNegotiate supplier cost reductions and NRE reductions in conjunction w/ commodities teams when cost increases experiencedDrive key efficiencies w/ suppliers and communication tools support faster & more product launchesIdentify process improvements to either supplier or Stryker processes to drive better speed to market, quality and long-term deliveryBuild engaging relationship with variety of R&D engineering teamsLead sourcing analysis and selection process and perform cost analyses and make versus buy analyses as requiredIdentify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans for new productsDrive request for quotes, order samples, prototypes, V&V, and productions partsManage bill of material for New ProductsSupport ERP set up, logistics, and tracking to target costs

 

What you need-

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or similar - required4 years of experience in strategic sourcing and supplier development - requiredAbility to negotiate effectively to obtain best prices and terms on products, materials, and servicesKnowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms and contract administrationManufacturing management, manufacturing engineering, buying, production planning or new product development experience - preferredMedical Device, Pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry experience (e.g.: aerospace, automotive) - highly preferredDemonstrated knowledge of new product development process

Travel Percentage: 20%
