Job Summary
The Lead Sonographer will provide leadership and is responsible for the effective ongoing quality, productivity, and efficiency of the Ultrasound department. The Lead Sonographer will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans. The Lead Sonographer will spend 95% of time in direct patient care.

Qualifications
+ Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required.
+ Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in sonography, required.
+ Licensure/Certification:
+ Certified and registered by ARDMS in two specialties and must include Vascular Technology, required.
+ RT(S)(VS) or RDMS, RT(VS) or RDMS, RVT, VT, required.
+ Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; good communication skills, capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms; working knowledge of various types of x-ray equipment, able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served. Has ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Basic computer skills.
