Description of Duties\:
The MDSEA Solutions Engineer Lead supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will\:
· Lead a team in a fast-paced, dynamic mission environment.
· Oversee all Solutions Engineering functions with the MDSEA organization while supporting integrations and collaborations across other functional teams and IRES as a whole.
· Take ownership of developing new IT solutions, designs and implementation
· Responsible for project initiation, task management and development of artifacts for the Technical Baseline
· Establishing cloud/virtualization governance and driving cloud-native modernization.
· Ensuring tight integration with IT, cybersecurity, and application delivery teams.
· Design, implement, troubleshoot, and sustain hybrid environments for the Missile Defense Space Center.
· Administer Container Platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, and Podman as well as maintain Repositories/Registries.
· Work directly with System Engineers to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions.
· Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations.
· Be responsible for ensuring system software installations, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
· Carrying out high-level activities associated with design and system architecture.
· Design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, or hybrid) for enterprise workloads.
· Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure integration and compliance.
· Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS transitions.
· Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates (e.g., ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation)

Basic Requirements\:
· Must have 14, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
o May be reduced with advanced education
· Must have 6, or more, years of directly related experience
· Must have 1, or more, years of Technical Leadership experience within Information Technology, specifically related to Research and Development environments and infrastructure
· Must have experience with project implementation of virtualization platforms such as OpenShift or VMware
· Must have documented experience developing and editing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products for IT systems.
· Must have experience in the decomposition of complex IT systems into manageable components.
· Must have an understanding of Model Base System Engineering and SysML
· Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (ex\: Security )
· Must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility
This position is expected to pay $165,000 - $180,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
