Solutions Delivery Lead - DefenceThe Role
KBR’s UK Defence team are focussed on three main market facing solutions into the Defence Sector; a Major Project Partner, an Mission/Ops Support Partner and a Complex Transformation Partner. We will combine our record of solving complex problems in challenging locations to support the UK MOD at home and overseas delivering the most critical defence outcomes.
In addition to an established presence delivering three main market facing solutions, we are continually looking to innovate to increase our customer value proposition and are particularly keen to increase our use of technology, data and analytics to underpin our solutions. We are looking for a Solutions Delivery Lead to occupy the space between Business Development and Operations – to ensure that what is being sold can be delivered, that the solution will meet (or exceed) customer expectations and that it will meet the expected revenue and profitability thresholds. This individual will likely mobilise successful bids and deliver for the first 6 months while a permanent team is built to endure. Staying in the delivery role will be an option should that be preferred.
This is a hybrid role with flexible working practices. The successful candidate will be required to regularly attend Leatherhead HQ, with occasional travel to project and Client sites mainly in the UK.
Responsibilities
Work with the Business Development team to design a feasible delivery solution which supports the bid strategy
Collaborate across KBR to understand what lessons exist from related or similar delivery projects
Collaborate extensively with Project Managers and Business Functions within the UK’s Defence and Nuclear Technology Solutions (DNTS) and wider KBR to identify available resources for project execution and determine any resource gaps.
Support and conduct market and supplier analysis to inform partnership decisions and build a winning solution
Support the Business Development lead to build and maintain customer intimacy
Establish strong relationships with critical stakeholders, developing engagement methods and sales leads
Build and maintain a robust network across clients and partners, proactively identifying growth opportunities
What we Need
Experience of taking sales concepts through to creating deliverable, profitable solutions aligned to a strategy
Experience in supporting the development of commercial solutions – traditional and more innovative
Experience in supporting the creation of a supply chain eco-system to support project delivery
A deep understanding of the Defence environment (Gov and Industry) and its domestic and overseas operations
An existing Defence network
Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
Excellent leadership and management skills
Ability to secure MOD security clearances
A minimum of 2 days per week in Leatherhead if not travelling
Flexible to travel nationally/internationally (up to 25%)
Technical Skills
An understanding of Business Development & Sales Strategy – Understanding the identification and pursuit of growth opportunities, crafting business strategies, and converting leads into successful contracts.
Proven understanding of solution architecture, service integration and systems integration concepts.
Market Research & Data Analysis – Ability to conduct research, analyse trends, and interpret competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
A broad capability understanding with particular focus on logistics, PMO and delivery partner experience.
