POSITION OVERVIEW\n

A strategic and technically adept architecture leader with deep experience supporting mission-critical digital solutions within NATO and national defense environments. Proven expertise in designing and integrating scalable, resilient, and sustainable software and hardware architectures, while mentoring development teams and promoting consistent architectural practices. Skilled in aligning technology decisions with Agile and DevSecOps principles, conducting risk and trade-off analyses, and guiding the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance mission agility and relevance. Adept at balancing technical debt with long-term goals, advising on secure identity and access management (IAM), and advocating for architectural modeling standards and tools. Communicates complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders, enabling informed and mission-aligned decision-making.\n

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nProvide architectural leadership for innovative digital products developed in NATO or National defense institutions, ensuring solutions support mission requirements. \nOversee the design and integration of modern software and hardware architectures, ensuring scalability, resilience, and long-term sustainability. \nProvide architectural mentorship to development teams, ensuring consistent application of design principles and practices across projects. \nCollaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify optimal technology approaches that enable Agile and DevSecOps practices. \nDevelop and maintain architectural documentation, including risk assessments, trade-off analyses, and implementation strategies. \nEvaluate emerging technologies and guide their adoption where appropriate to improve agility, resilience, and mission relevance. \nBalance technical debt, immediate mission requirements, and long-term sustainability in architectural decision-making. \nAdvise on identity and access management (IAM) design patterns to support secure and federated user access across systems. \nPromote adoption of architectural modeling standards (UML, ArchiMate, BPMN) and tools (Enterprise Architect, Archi, ARIS, XMLSpy, etc.). \nCommunicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to enable informed decision-making. \n\n

Required Qualifications:\n\nMinimum 4 years of experience in software and\/or hardware architecture, including design patterns and paradigm shifts. \nExperience leading cross-functional teams and providing mentorship in applying architectural principles. \nExperience evaluating and integrating emerging technologies into operational systems. \nExperience in modern Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution patterns. \nExperience working in Agile DevSecOps teams with CI\/CD practices and relevant certifications. \nExperience developing documentation on technology solutions, including risk assessment, trade-offs, and implementation strategies. \nFamiliarity with architectural modeling standards (UML, ArchiMate, BPMN) and tools (Enterprise Architect, Archi, ARIS, XMLSpy, etc.). \nProven ability to communicate complex technical issues effectively to technical and non technical audiences. \nFluent in English (oral and written).\n\n
