As a Solution Designer , you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering scalable data solutions tailored for consumer banking environments. Your expertise will help drive the modernization and optimization of complex data systems while aligning with business needs and industry best practices.
This position will help drive a large scale transformation program for our major client within consumer banking.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable data solutions using ETL tools (e.g., Informatica IDMC/CDI, PowerCenter, or equivalent platforms) across diverse, high-volume data environments.Lead solution design for large-scale data migration and integration projects, including inventory analysis, impact assessments, and creation of detailed data flow diagrams.Develop and optimize ETL pipelines to ensure high performance, data integrity, and operational efficiency in both on-premises and hybrid environments.Drive the reengineering of legacy data warehouses and ETL workflows (e.g., Oracle, custom platforms) into modern, maintainable architectures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate consumer banking requirements, such as General Ledger (GL) processes, into practical, scalable technical solutions.Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including solution designs, mapping specifications, and workflow designs.Implement robust data validation, governance, and quality frameworks using tools like Informatica IDQ or similar.Apply CI/CD practices using tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins to automate and streamline deployments.Perform performance tuning of ETL jobs, SQL queries, and batch processes to optimize resource utilization across systems.Provide mentorship and technical leadership, delivering knowledge-sharing sessions on best practices for integrating and modernizing complex data systems, with a focus on consumer banking use cases.Experience required:
Extensive experience in data engineering and solution design at a senior level, with proficiency in ETL tools (Informatica IDMC/CDI, PowerCenter preferred but not mandatory).Strong background in consumer banking, with knowledge of General Ledger (GL) processes, financial data workflows, or similar banking operations highly advantageous.Experience working with complex, legacy data platforms (e.g., Oracle, DB2, custom systems) and expertise in integrating, migrating, and optimizing them.Solid knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other RDBMS, with the ability to design and optimize complex queries.Proven success in large-scale migration, re-platforming, or modernization projects, particularly those involving legacy or batch-oriented data sources.Expertise in data modeling (relational, dimensional, operational) and governance practices (e.g., row-level security, column-level security).Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) to derive insights from complex datasets.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, particularly in consumer banking contexts.Willing to work a minimum of 2 days a week in the officeYour working environment
