Solution Architect – Supply Chain Intelligence will work with Product Delivery Teams to design and implement technical solutions for Ford’s Supply Chain Logistics portfolio. Responsibilities will include cloud data platform engineering, location-tracking hardware strategy, & AI/ML work for Inbound Material Logistics, Mfg. Plant Material Flow, and Outbound Finished Vehicle Logistics. Solution Architect will define technology decisions across Ford in-house built applications and vendor solutions to modernize Ford’s Supply Chain.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Five or more years of experience as solution architect, software engineer, or equivalent.Even better, you may have...
Additional Qualifications
Experience with industry supply chain logistics and material flow systems (TMS, WMS, YMS, etc.). Previous experience as data engineer and/or software developer. Strong architecture knowledge with experience in providing technical solutions for cloud infrastructure. Google Cloud Platform experience is a plus. Strong system design knowledge of data platforms, including the ingestion of various IoT location sources, real-time data visibility and APIs, and historical analytical reports. Experience with AI/ML models in addition to data platforms is a plus. Previous experience with Transportation Management System(s). Including, but not limited to, Blue Yonder, Oracle TM, SAP TMS, e2open TM, Manhattan TM. Previous experience with IoT Location tracking hardware and software solutions (BLE, RFID, Vision Systems, etc.) Experience with microservice architecture, REST APIs, Event-Driven Messaging patterns, and distributed cloud systems. Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and hands-on application development. Understand how to architect highly available, performant, scalable, global solutions. Self-starter, ability to work independently. Self-researcher, ability to research technologies and provide insight to product team. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Previous experience with multi-team, large-scale projects and incorporating all levels of architecture development (Business, Solution, Application, Infrastructure). What you’ll be able to do:
Solution Architect – Supply Chain Intelligence will be responsible for:
Analyze business, supply chain, and manufacturing material flow needs to define technical architecture solutions that modernize Ford Supply Chain Logistics. Identify key portfolio capabilities, define global system strategies, architect end-to-end value streams, recommend buy-vs-build decisions, and evaluate vendor. Design foundational data platform to consolidate global data on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and drive intelligent insights via data-centric architecture. Design solutions with technical expertise in IoT Material Tracking, Location Tags, Vision Systems, Google Cloud Platform, and vendor Transportation Management Systems (TMS) / SaaS solutions. Define, analyze, assemble, and integrate systems to deliver Supply Chain Intelligence for tracking, visibility, and predicting material flow, while considering platform(s), user experience, software, cost, availability, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with Material and Vehicle Logistics (MVL), Business Leads, Software Delivery Leads, Product Managers, and Software Engineers in data platform design, technology evaluation, and guide teams in creating and delivering well-designed systems and capabilities. Provide support such as troubleshooting application functional, performance, and availability issues, and participate in vendor solution evaluation processes. Collaborate closely as a member of one or more product teams. Immerse yourself in and evaluate current supply chain logistics and manufacturing material flow operations to gain deep domain knowledge.
