The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of todays and tomorrow’s power grid!

We are looking for a Solution Architect to support our growing portfolio of customized and enhanced electrical power distribution and automation solutions. In this role you will be responsible for the design, optimization and implementation of the main electrical infrastructure of a Data Center. Client contact and active involvement during the sales and execution phase will be part of your daily work. Among our clients are leading Data Center operators, consultants and (electrical) contractors. This position is a hybrid role based in the Wendell, NC area.

You’ll make an impact as you:

Design the main electrical infrastructure of a Data Center, including all relevant interfaces. Translate design outline letters into solutions that meet and exceed the client’s expectation. Take ownership of the design choices with the related functional and financial impact. Further developing of the technical relationship with end-clients, consultants and contractors. Support the sales organization to enable the further development of global named accounts. Serve as the technical lead in pre-sales engagements, developing tailored engineering solutions based on customer requirements and Siemens product offerings (MV/LV switchgear, protection systems, SCADA, inverters etc.) Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, BDMs, Product Management, Engineering, and Project Execution to define system architecture, technical specifications, and integration requirements focusing on the requirement for the AI Data Centers. Analyze customer applications and develop optimal technical solutions involving protection relays, power distribution, automation, and digitalization technologies. Prepare technical documentation including one-line diagrams, system architecture drawings (3D models), functional specifications, and bills of materials. Support bid/proposal efforts, including review of customer RFQs, specifications, and compliance matrices. Participate in customer-facing meetings to present and explain solution concepts, value propositions, and technical differentiation. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Siemens portfolio, industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies in Data Center builds and smart infrastructure. Conduct customer presentations on training on the generated data center solution

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering. 10+ years of experience in the design of power transmission and distribution systems and/or projects ranging from medium voltage down to low voltage. Basic Knowledge of ANSI-NEMA standards. Ability to travel up to 30-40% of the time, both national and international. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Knowledge of IEC standards.

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
