Job Title: SolidWorks DesignerJob Description
We are seeking a talented SolidWorks Designer to join our team, specializing in railroad communications and crossing systems. In this role, you will be responsible for mechanical 3D modeling in SolidWorks and creating detailed drawings for structures and crossing signals.
Responsibilities
+ Perform mechanical 3D modeling in SolidWorks.
+ Create detailed drawings for structures and crossing signals.
+ Utilize Excel to create and manage Bill of Materials (BOM).
+ Price and order parts using Excel.
+ Develop flat patterns for export into DWG files for parts creation in the shop.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks, design, and drafting.
+ Experience in mechanical design and mechanical drafting.
+ Strong skills in Excel for data entry and BOM creation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a fabrication shop is beneficial.
+ Ability to create programs for fabrication equipment and operators is a plus.
+ Willingness to learn and increase drawing efficiency.
Work Environment
You will be part of a growing team, expanding from 4 to 6 designers, working from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with approximately 45 hours per week and some flexibility when needed. Our work environment is casual and clean, with a dress code of golf shirts and jeans, maintaining a clean and tidy appearance as customers frequently visit the facility. We are a family-owned business that values independence and provides support when needed, contributing to our low turnover rate.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Simpsonville, Kentucky.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
