**Job Title: Soldering Technician** **Job Description**
We are an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider based in Meridian, specializing in contract manufacturing and prototyping for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and Interconnect Solutions. We proudly serve industries including tech industrial, aerospace and defense, and medical, delivering high-quality, precision-built electronic connectors. The Cable Assembly Precision Soldering Associate is responsible for performing precision hand soldering and cable assembly by hand for complex cable and harness solutions, ensuring all work meets the requirements of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, and customer-specific quality standards. This position supports both prototype and production builds, contributing to the success of our high-mix, low-volume wire and cable assembly organization in a highly-regulated aerospace, defense, and medical environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform precision hand soldering using various techniques such as solder cups, J-hooks, and through-hole to assemble complex cables and wire harnesses.
+ Ensure soldering does not damage insulation or connectors.
+ Support manual assembly and production of cable and wire harness products, following IPC and engineering standards.
+ Inspect solder joints and assemblies for quality compliance per IPC-A-610 Class II and III criteria, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001.
+ Use soldering irons, mag-lights, and ESD-safe tools safely and effectively.
+ Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly documentation for accuracy.
+ Identify and report nonconformances, process deviations, or quality issues promptly.
+ Maintain ESD compliance and ensure safe handling of sensitive electronic components.
+ Support process engineers and production leads in troubleshooting assembly and solder-related defects.
+ Participate in 5S and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
+ Accurately complete production records, inspection logs, and traceability documentation in compliance with AS9100 and ITAR regulations.
+ Perform other duties as required to support cable and wire harness production assembly.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001 soldering standards (certification preferred).
+ Strong manual skills including dexterity and attention to detail.
+ Technical understanding of diagrams and basic math.
+ Excellent hand-eye coordination and color vision for wire color coding.
+ Ability to use small hand tools effectively.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in wire harness and cable assembly is beneficial.
+ Certification in IPC standards is preferred.

**Work Environment**
Work in a clean electronics manufacturing facility where employees have their own workstations to complete assembly tasks. The dress code includes wearing a smock and shoe straps on the production floor. Our schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. We are open to offering travel opportunities and potential relocation for cable and harness soldering technicians.

This is a Contract position based out of Meridian, ID.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
