Build and maintain Python-based test automation for safety-critical medical software and embedded systems.
Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree with 3+ years as a software test engineer (or 1+ year with Master’s); CS, Biomedical Engineering, or related.
Proven Python programming experience for test development.
Hands-on with test automation tools (Squish, Selenium).
Source control experience with Git and Bitbucket.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred SkillsC++ for test harnesses, device stubs, or white-box support.
Medical device testing background; familiarity with ISO/FDA documentation and compliance (e.g., ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, IEC 62304).
Test automation on Linux/Unix; shell scripting.
CI/CD integration (e.g., Jenkins/GitHub Actions); artifact and results reporting.
Test frameworks and libraries (pytest, unittest); mocking and dependency injection.
Requirements traceability and defect lifecycle tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, DOORS).
ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and extend test automation frameworks in Python; develop maintainable test suites for UI, API, and device workflows.
Author test plans, protocols, and cases; ensure coverage of functional, regression, integration, and system tests.
Automate GUI flows with Squish; supplement with Selenium where appropriate.
Build service/device simulators and mocks; contribute C++ hooks for white-box and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
Operate test environments on Linux/Unix; manage fixtures, emulators, and lab assets.
Integrate tests with CI/CD pipelines; publish dashboards, logs, and coverage metrics.
Maintain requirements traceability; document verification evidence per medical device standards.
Participate in backlog refinement and sprint deliverables to align testing with release criteria.
Pay Details: $45.00 to $51.00 per hour
