Software Test Engineer
Job Title: Software Test Engineer Job Description The Software Test Engineer will create and maintain an automated test environment for HVAC equipment, testing controls functionality within virtual geographic environments. This position necessitates collaboration with HVAC hardware and software development teams, as well as proficiency in data analysis tools. Responsibilities + Create detailed test plans and test cases for system, integration, and automated testing. + Perform system, integration, regression, and automated testing to verify system performance and functionality. + Detect, document, and track software and system defects, collaborating with development teams for resolution. + Verify product defect fixes in various releases. + Ensure proper integration of software and hardware components and validate system interfaces. + Conduct performance testing to ensure systems meet required performance standards. + Maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, results, and defect reports. + Perform software updates and support Lab Test Requests. + Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts. + Assist in evaluating, planning, and implementing new testing technologies and automation tools for robustness and efficiency. Essential Skills + Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline preferred. + 1-3 years of experience in engineering or related discipline. + Strong knowledge of HVAC domain. + Understanding of object-oriented and component-based product development. + Ability to think creatively to offer solutions to problems. + Knowledge of different test methodologies, tools, and practices. + Experience in Python and Linux. + Understanding of automated test frameworks. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with automated testing is desired. + Programming experience is desired. + Experience testing and configuring embedded controllers. + Flexibility to learn automated testing if primarily experienced in manual testing. Work Environment This position is based on-site, with working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM. Initially, 75% of the role will involve manual testing, gradually transitioning to 75% automated testing over time. The team is focused on becoming more process-oriented from development to testing, with opportunities for growth into development roles. The initial work setup is predominantly on-site, with potential for remote work after familiarization with the applications and tools. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
