As a Software Test Engineer at Hologic, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and quality of our cutting-edge electro-mechanical and embedded software systems, including advanced graphical user interfaces. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and execute comprehensive test strategies that drive innovation and support the development of life-changing medical technologies.
Knowledge
+ In-depth understanding of software testing methodologies, including both manual and automated approaches for embedded and GUI systems.
+ Expertise in designing and implementing test plans for complex electro-mechanical and embedded software platforms.
+ Familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to medical device software (e.g., IEC 62304).
+ Proficiency in requirements and test management tools such as HelixALM, and issue tracking systems like JIRA.
+ Knowledge of software debugging tools, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and protocol analyzers.
+ Awareness of software development lifecycle processes and best practices for testability and maintainability.
+ Experience participating in design reviews and providing actionable feedback on software architecture and testability.
+ Understanding of risk-based testing and its application in safety-critical environments.
Skills
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
+ Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for test automation; familiarity with C/C++ is a plus.
+ Demonstrated experience developing and executing automated and manual test cases for embedded and GUI software.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-team collaboration.
+ Ability to create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, cases, and reports.
+ Experience with GUI testing frameworks and tools.
+ Skilled in using hardware and software debugging instruments to troubleshoot complex issues.
+ Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The annualized base salary range is $76,800-120,100 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
