ZF Active Safety and Electronics US, LLC has job openings (multiple) for the position of Technical Specialist – Software based out of its location in Farmington Hills, MI.
Job Duties: Review and assess the technical scope for software disciplines, evaluating efforts, and supporting management in making key business decisions. Lead global engineering teams, guiding project execution, and serving as the main liaison between different company sectors. Report directly to the Engineering Manager, striving to meet overall project and organizational goals. Ensure the team's performance is aligned with operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Assign responsibilities within project teams and monitor progress to ensure timely completion. Provide strategic input for continuous improvement initiatives and business unit strategies. Manage software deliverables throughout the entire software lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, coding, unit testing, and defect resolution. Adhere to a defined software process for quality assurance and documentation following SPICE and ISO26262 standards. Develop detailed software specifications and designs for safety-critical features, ensuring compliance with system requirements. Maintain configuration management standards for all major software releases. Resolve issues effectively, maintaining a controlled and standardized process. Uphold the company's quality protocols for documenting embedded code. Implement process improvements that balance industry standards with the company's commercial objectives. Formulate project timelines and ensure execution aligns with established milestones. Collaborate with global colleagues, hardware engineers, and cross-functional teams to debug and validate code. Produce thorough analysis, reports, and presentations catering to both internal stakeholders and external clients. Deeply understand and integrate customer requirements, project milestones, and technological capacities into project planning. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or closely related field, plus 5 years of experience in software engineering for the automotive industry, and demonstrated experience with: Develop embedded software for real-time embedded safety application; ADAS radar and cameras; C language; Vehicle bus standards; Automotive software and device driver development; Vector CAN tools, including CANalyzer, CANoe, and NeoVI; Configuration management tools, including MKS; Issue tracking system using PTC Integrity; UML design skills with detailed implementation in C; IBM Rhapsody tool for automotive software detailed design; Unit verification tools using VectorCAST; Static analysis tools, including QAC and MISRA; AUTOSAR; Agile methodologies; and ASPICE and ISO26262 standards.
