Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Software Security Engineer to lead and manage safety plans, ensuring compliance with DO-178C DAL A standards. This role requires a strong focus on safety leadership, process management, and risk analysis within safety-critical systems. The position involves overseeing software development processes, conducting safety assessments, and providing guidance on safety practices.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage safety plans ensuring compliance with DO-178C DAL A standards.Oversee software development processes, code hardening, verification, and validation to ensure adherence to safety and reliability standards.Conduct thorough safety assessments, hazard analyses, and risk mitigation.Maintain comprehensive documentation for safety plans, processes, and compliance activities.Prepare for and support internal and external compliance audits.Provide guidance and training on DO-178C standards and safety practices.Implement best practices for process improvements in safety and reliability.Communicate safety objectives and requirements effectively with cross-functional teams.Investigate safety incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.Essential SkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 7 years in software development, with at least 5 years focused on safety-critical systems and DO-178C compliance.Deep understanding of DO-178C standards, particularly for DAL A certification.Knowledge of requirements management, verification, requirement testing, and certifications such as DO-178C and FAA.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Meticulous attention to safety and compliance standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsRelevant certifications (e.g., DO-178C, FAA DER) are highly desirable.Familiarity with related standards, code analysis, waterfall methodology, agile, RTOS, and coverage analysis.Proficiency with safety, verification, and code analysis tools.Background in the aerospace industry and understanding of regulatory requirements.Work Environment
This position is fully remote within the United States.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $70.00/hr.
