Job Description A large Material Handling Company is looking for a Software Product Owner. The Product Owner (aka Solutions Architect) is responsible for translating customer requirements into actionable project plans and user stories, guiding them through an agile development environment with the project team. Acting as the primary customer-facing representative, the position involves leading video meetings and traveling to customer sites approximately 30–40% of the time. The individual will typically manage one primary project while providing consultation on smaller initiatives. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and leading project teams effectively. Key responsibilities include validating and refining software requirements defined during the sales phase, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation. The role leads the software design process, including chairing design meetings, developing functional specification documents, and creating interface design documentation. Additional duties include estimating timelines and staffing needs for software delivery, overseeing the transition of design to development, infrastructure, testing, and commissioning work streams, and managing complex software issues or escalations in collaboration with customer stakeholders and software managers. The position also supports project management in securing customer acceptance of the delivered software solution. This is a full-time position offering an annual base salary ranges of $100,000 - $135,000 based on experience. Skills and Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in related field (marketing, sales, engineering) Strong communication skills as they will be interacting frequently with the customer Several years of experience delivering software solutions Demonstrated ability to lead a software design work stream and develop detailed software specifications and interface documents. Previous experience estimating project effort and delivery timeframes. Leadership skills to manage and motivate software implementation teams. Experience in software quality assurance and testing solutions. Automation experience (Material handling Warehouse/Manufacturing) Numeric analytics and statistical analysis experience Prior leadership experience (operating as a scrum master)
