Mission:

Within the Engineering division of THALES Belgium, the Software Engineering discipline is responsible for all the software development activities on products, projects and services provided to customers worldwide.

As a Software Integration, Verification and Validation Engineer at Thales Belgium, you will be responsible for overseeing the software testing process and validate that the software team not only built the product right, but also built the right product. To achieve this objective, you will define the software testing strategy and test scenario, prepare the environments and finally execute the software test cases and document the test results to ensure that our software solutions meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Responsibilities:

Integration ManagementLead the integration of various software components into a unified system.Coordinate with software development teams to ensure smooth integration processes.Resolve integration issues by troubleshooting and making necessary adjustments.

Verification and ValidationPlan and manage software verification and validation activities within project timelines and budgets.Develop and implement comprehensive verification and validation strategies.Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and specifications.Conduct manual and automated testing to verify the functionality and performance of software solutions.Perform code reviews and ensure that all software components meet requirements, and adhere to coding and industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.

DocumentationDocument and maintain the test procedures.Document the test results and communicate it to the right stakeholders.

Innovation and ImprovementIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in software testing.Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends.Identify automation opportunities and include them in your testing continuous improvement plan.

Profile

QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in software integration, verification, and validation within the defense or a related industry.Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and software testing methodologies.Proficiency in automated testing tools and frameworksStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Eligibility for a security habilitationExcellent command of English

Preferred qualifications Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools (e.g. version control, CI/CD pipelines).Knowledge of defense industry standards and regulatory requirements.Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python)Experience as software developer or embedded engineer.Experience in working in an Agile environment.Experience in Containers (Docker and Kubernetes)
