Position Summary With minimum supervision, responsible for implementing software solutions that interface with and control hydraulic testing systems to ensure accurate performance and data acquisition. Essential Functions + Gains understanding of hydraulic system functionality and test requirements sufficient to configure software for manual or automated control of hydraulic system. + Modifies existing software configurations to meet user requests by determining most expedient and efficient methods of applying a modification into a pre-existing system. Documents system alterations and additions by preparing comprehensive descriptions and diagrams. + Confers with program and/or system users to identify and evaluate design requirements, program changes, and to identify problems. + Supports PC configuration and troubleshooting in test consoles. + Follows software release process to properly document and control software configurations + Complies with federal and state legal requirements (e.g. software licensing, confidentiality of employee records), ensures adherence to requirements, and advises management on needed actions. + Represents company on specific projects. Prepares and conducts technical presentations on selected topics. May train or mentor newer employees and contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement). Qualifications Education + No formal education required, but a Bachelor or Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software or Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities + 5 years of experience operating hydraulic systems strongly preferred. + 1-3 years of experience with control systems preferred. + Knowledge of software design, programming and analysis principles. + Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement techniques and methods. + Ability to work within general work objectives regarding projects and team goals. + Ability to work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs; solves a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways. + Ability to communicate effectively with users, project teams, and management. + Ability to respond to significant inquiries from users. + Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities. Other Skills + Experience with software configuration management tools (e.g. MKS, PLM) + Experience using Data Analysis tools (e.g. Excel, NI Diadem) + Test system requirements definition and documentation + Knowledge of hydraulic system components and controls + Experience following a defined process to satisfy Quality Assurance standards We offer a comprehensive and competitive total compensation package.
