Software Engineering Manager

The Software Engineering Manager (Analytics) is responsible for leading and managing a global team of developers across key analytics functions, including data engineering, business intelligence (BI) reporting, data modeling, and data management. This role is critical in driving the execution of analytics development initiatives that support enterprise data strategies and business insights.
The manager will oversee the full development lifecycle of analytics solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals while maintaining high standards of quality, performance, and scalability. The manager will also oversee the resolution of level 3 production incidents. They will work to remove blockers, drive development velocity, and continuously improve delivery quality. A strong focus will be placed on team development, mentorship, and collaboration across matrixed teams including operations, architecture, and business stakeholders.
+ Oversees all steps of system development life cycles to assure conformance with established standards.
+ Resolves problems by devising or modifying procedures. Considers capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results when developing resolutions.
+ Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, forming project team, establishing project budget, developing schedules, assigning, prioritizing and monitoring work, implementing productivity standards, and resolving operations problems.
+ Develops long and short-range strategic operating plans for the implementation and deployment of analytical solutions.
+ Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
+ Determines the appropriate staffing for assigned software services. Directs the selection and training of personnel within the limits of organization administrative policy.
+ Interfaces with other departments to establish and analyze product technology needs.
+ Responsible for Service Level Agreements or Operational Level Agreements for assigned software services.
+ Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and followed.
+ Coordinate functions of multiple group leaders and their teams.
+ Read and follow the UL Solutions Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices
+ Performs other duties as directed.
+ Detailed knowledge of the delivery of analytical software services.
+ Advanced experience in leading software projects & programs and managing software teams.
+ University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
