Software Engineering internship: develop a run-time model linking tool
Introduction

The mission of our group - the EUV Source Laser Metrology is to design and industrialize the next generation of measurement, controls and corrections of our multi-kW CO2-laser system as part of the EUV source. We are developing a simulator for testing high level software applications. This simulator is a combination of physics models in MATLAB/Simulink and software interceptor code in Python. It is used to test high level software applications called CPDs and thereby improve test coverage and reduce the (expensive) on-machine test time.

Your Assignment

During your internship, you will develop a model linking tool which will be used to combine compiled Simulink models into an executable package. This tool shall be used by ASML model engineers in their day to day work.
Some of your tasks will include:

Contact relevant stakeholders in the organization and collect relevant information about similar processes elsewhere in the organization;

Define and implement a new way of working in the context of Source Laser by coding;

To be successful, you need to be able to read and understand legacy code written in multiple programming languages and proactively interact with all the key stakeholders to drive this project to success.

This is a Bachelor internship (non-thesis) for 5 months, working 5 days per week (60% onsite). The start date of this internship is around January/February.

Your Profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

Are busy with your bachelor's in Software Engineering or Computer Science;

Have an affinity with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python and C++;

Preferably have knowledge of Simulink;

Get energized by developing quality code and delivering a tangible product;

Have a proactive mindset and willing to learn;

Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Other requirements you need to meet:

You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;

If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
