Responsibilities

The Radiation Oncology Systems Unit in the Clinical Systems Domain has an opening for a Software Engineer to join the Custom Development IT team that collaborates with medical physicists and other IT professionals to deliver robust, secure, and scalable solutions for Enterprise Radiation Oncology Department supporting both Photon and Proton clinics.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and maintenance of custom system software Create middleware to facilitate integration between measurement hardware, software interfaces, TPS scripting, and data flow.Support one-off code solutions to optimize and automate unique clinical processes.Work in a fast-paced Agile environment, managing multiple initiatives and reprioritizing as demands change.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or related field; Or an associate’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field with an additional 2 years of experience as described below. 

The ideal candidate will have these qualifications: 

Strong understanding of software development concepts and object-oriented programming.Experience in web programming, specifically with C# and .NET.Front-end development skills and experience working in Agile software development processes.Experience with web app development in Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript is a plus.Familiarity with DICOM standards is highly desirable.Ability and willingness to learn and support additional programming languages as needed.Experience with large databases, MS SQL, and SQL query optimization.Knowledge of client application models, web-based application models, and web APIs.Experience with complex system integration, including both file-based and API-based integrations.Familiarity with agile scrum and secure coding practices.Knowledge in cloud app development and technologies is preferable.
