Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program.
This position will be located at our Aurora, Colorado site. This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.
This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 (Principal) or a level 4 (Sr. Principal), depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Requirements:
Level 3 (Principal): Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5+ years of software development experience; 3 years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Level 4 (Sr. Principal): Bachelor’s degree in Science with 7+ years of software development experience; 6 years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Must have current Top Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application.Must have an established understanding of the Java Programming Language (Required for support of design, implementation, testing, code reviews, etc.)Must have a good understanding of Git (Required for support of releases, patching, pipeline, developer support, etc.)Must have a good understanding of Kubernetes/Helm (Required for support of deployments, environment support, and IT&D integration, etc.)Must have a good understanding of Databases (Not specifically but at least some experience with one of the following: Elastic, Mongo, MySQL)Experience with, Configuration Management, Integration Test and Development (not necessarily acting as, but working directly with)
