As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL or Dallas, TX.
We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer with a proven track record in building scalable, event-driven microservices and leading cross-functional Agile teams. The ideal candidate will have expertise across backend and UI technologies, modern frameworks, DevOps practices, and enterprise integration. Strong experience in Java, Angular, React, Spring ecosystem, and Agile ways of working is essential. Experience integrating with Pega DX API and developing UI component libraries for the Pega Constellation framework will be a strong differentiator.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and mentor a team of backend and UI developers within Agile crews (Scrum/Kanban).
· Conduct code reviews, set coding standards, and ensure technical excellence.
· Design and implement event-driven microservices with DDD using Java, Spring Boot/Cloud/Security.
· Develop modern frontends (Angular, React) and micro frontends, build UI component libraries for Pega Constellation.
· Integrate with Pega DX API for case management extensions.
· Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Gradle).
· Ensure code quality (SonarQube), secure coding practices, and strong security analysis.
· Deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
· Collaborate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and drive Agile best practices, incremental delivery, and continuous feedback.
· Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to refine backlog and ensure business value delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
· Experienced in a senior/lead role.
· Expert in Java + Spring ecosystem.
· Strong Angular & React experience.
· Cloud-native deployment and modernization projects.
· Deep understanding of microservices, DDD, event-driven architectures.
· Proven Agile experience (working in crews/squads, delivering iteratively).
· Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
· CI/CD (Jenkins, Git, Gradle).
· Code quality (SonarQube), secure coding practices.
· Leadership, mentoring, collaboration across Agile teams.
Preferred / Strong Plus
· Pega DX API integration experience.
· UI libraries for Pega Constellation framework.
· Familiarity with Agile scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Spotify model).
· Pega API security, SSO, integration patterns.

**Pay Transparency**
Base Salary: $55,000.00 – $158,700.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education.
